Old makeup and oil build up in your brushes. That can make your foundation look streaky and your brushes feel stiff. The good news: cleaning them takes a few minutes.
How often
- Foundation brushes and puffs: about once a week if you use them daily.
- Powder and eye brushes: every one to two weeks.
Step by step
- Wet the bristles with lukewarm water, pointing the brush downward so water does not run into the handle.
- Add a drop of mild soap to your palm.
- Swirl the brush gently in your palm until the foam is clean.
- Rinse until the water runs clear.
- Squeeze out the water with a clean towel and reshape the bristles.
- Dry flat or with the bristles facing down, never standing up while wet.
For puffs and sponges
Wash them the same way, squeezing gently instead of swirling, then let them air dry completely before using them again.
Our tools
The Seamless Foundation Brush & Puff and the Essential Brush Set both wash easily with mild soap and water.
